"I'm handsome" they say. "He's a handsome man". "He's very handsome". I got a little bothered when the vice principal-man kept saying that coz I'm not gay. I even hear it out in town. I'm not exceptionally gifted so I'm i'm gonna scar myself to be fair to everyone else. I suppose I'm a dumb blond but without the blond part, I'd just be dumb. Screw that.

People are so fickle...I dress smart aoccasionally..perfect hairstyle, nice clothes...etc. Then they all say "Teacher so handsome" blah blah etc...
Then most days I go in a baseball cap and jeans..and they can't gfive you the time of day..
Oh dear..Is there any genuiness in the world? Does anybody actually see the inside? I think not.
So, enjoy your position as blonde handsome teacher while you can..as koreans are among the shallowest people on earth.

what's the big deal....your principal's not gay....but maybe you're a little scared that you are. My principal calls me a "cutie" and "handsome" all the time. It's not that big of a deal.

Maybe its the snazzy new avatar. In my minds eye you'll always look like Jeffrey Dahmer.

After being told numerous times that I looked like Bruce Willis (until I morphed into the 'KFC Man') and other people being compared to other stars, I decided what was really being said was, "You look nice."

In other words, don't take everything you hear literally.

I've been told at various times that I look like Tom Cruise, John Cusack, Noah Wylie, Alec Baldwin, Edward Norton, Pierce Brosnan, David Beckham, and, well, that's all I can remember for now. It's very flattering until some slack-jawed stringbean walks by and all the Koreans go "waaaah, he look like Brad Pitt".

Errr... no. Beckham is a big, virile, sex god. I'm not. We share forked up blond hair. That's about it. I liken it to an Asian woman, any asian woman, in North America who gets "You look like Lucy Liu!"

Beckham is a sissy and very likely to be a sex god but for the other team, if ya know what I mean. PLUS hes a one dimensional player with only a good cross. I hate Beckham.

It doesn't happen only in Korea though. When I was applying was an internship in England with ABB-Daimler Benz, I was given the job because I was *the prettiest* and the *most smartly dressed* interviewee... of course they didn't tell me that when they gave me the internship. My boss told me about 2 months after I started. Rolling Eyes

Where did this Asian\Korean belief that your looks determine how good of a teacher you are come from anyway?

Guess what...

Many movie stars have their jobs because of their looks.

They also have to be good at what they do, too.

Just because you look good doesn't mean you aren't a good teacher.

I guess if your avatar showed your face as well as the progeny's, we'd know whether or not to believe you. I'd like to say, I believe you just because you have an honest face, but . . .
