| Reading this thread you would think all eslers in korea are jaw-dropping model material. So why is it that you never actually see these adonises walking around Itaewon? Do pretty people lock themselves away in thier rooms all day? |

This really doesn't surprise me. Honestly, does this not happen back home? Are people not hired "in some way" based on thier looks?
I got comments back home, I get comments here, no biggie. It's all a matter of perspective. To someone (hopefully my wife) I am a God, to others i'm nuttin' special.
To Koreans, maybe i'm "something different" and they think it looks attractive or interesting. No prob.
have you guys ever noticed that people are often attracted to something they are not? |

Hey, I thought you ran screaming from Korea and you're now trying to convince Taiwanese women you have something to offer. |

| Seinfeld said "You dont see any handsome homeless people". In the business world, the image of a top exec has often been "over six feet, thick head of hair, well groomed and handsome". Looks play a big role eveywhere. It has been shown in many studies that people judge how intelligent, successful, likeable you are based on your looks. Good people are judged to be smarter, harder working, more successful than fat or ugly people. Its human nature and it isnt confined only to Korea or Asia. |

Beckham is a sissy and very likely to be a sex god but for the other team, if ya know what I mean. PLUS hes a one dimensional player with only a good cross. I hate Beckham.[/quote]
Do you tell your students you "HATE" Beckham! Think about for a moment, and then read below...
Yes, I am another "Jil sang Gida Waygook." The unfortunate thing is that I think I was discriminated against for my handsome looks at an interview with a Korean male(Apgujeung), probably because he couldn't stand the thought that his Korean female lovelies may fall for me. Being studly looking isn't all it's cracked up to be!
Daechidong Waygookin, do you teach HATE in the classroom? When I hear students use the word "HATE" I try to tell them not to use it.
Does anyone else notice how "hate" is so much part of their English language usage, who is teaching them that word? "Dislike" is the preferred term these days, for good reasons! |

Because we're all based in Uijeongbu, and wouldn't be caught dead walking in Itaewon.. If we have to go there at all (for example, to mock all the ugly people to build-up our ever fragile egos and suppress our insecurities) it's all about the tinted window limos to hide our beauty from the world.. We'd hate to make foot traffic even more congested than it presently is in that row-of-fugly. |

I get 'You handsome' or 'You very handsome' usually right after they ask me not to give them homework. Usually they're laughing too when they say it. Moreover it's usually from guys.
Somehow I don't think they're sincere. |

| When I applied for jobs here I sent a copy of my black and white headshot from my acting days. And casey you now officially know three times as many Jews. We're just mushrooming in Korea's fertile soil. |
