Specific universities are impossible to rank/rate unless you reveal to us the student's anticipated major. Different schools are great or s*ck depending on specific programs.
Had a good friend to went to Princeton! Wow! Except his major was agriculture!
Studying business - and planning to work in Asia - I'd go to Singapore. |

I really can't see how an English teacher in Korea is expected to know enough about these varied uni's to rank them.
Try the Uni rankings compiled by The Times newspaper (London). Google for it. |

I agree with Jenny. I am a Masters graduate in business myself and frankly, I wouldn't go to any of those for management, except Singapore.
Also, to be honest, Korea's very own KAIST is rated as having the best management school in Asia. Their Techno Management School and programmes are first class - they asked me to consider doing my PhD there (but I am not going to because I will be moving back to Europe before I want to start my PhD), so I looked through their stuff and whatnots. It's really quite impressive. If your friend wants to come back to work in Korea, it's better to do her degree in KAIST to build up her network. It is extremely important to have contacts in Korea... more important than knowledge. |

Tell your student to go to a big book store and buy a book about international universities. It should be able to tell him alot more about this than any of us probably could.. |

my brother went to Uni in Newcastle- it must be a fine establishment as they very nearly kicked him out after a year.
Be warned though, it's pretty cold up there, and the local accent would be totally impenetrable to a non-native speaker. Also those geordies (people from Newcastle) drink fierce |

Most of these criteria require you to contact the various universities and find out!
Except for reputation and living expenses.
I've heard of The University of Rhode Island and Newcastle, and those two are in English-speaking countries, which is good for improving the language skills, but perhaps harder to do well academically because of it.
Singapore seems to be a safe bet, but not as prestigious in the business world as often are considered American degrees.
Good luck to your student! |

I'd agree also...if your friends plans to work in korea. Connections is the thing in korea...not degrees.
However...is she/he obtains a korean degree and goes elsewhere in the world....it is just toilet paper. Having a degree from a korean university is not at all in the prestige league! Try getting a job in back home with a korean degree. |

It's hard to conceive of anyone having a choice between Troy State and URI. They're such different schools that it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. |
