Does anyone live and teach on this island or have you visited this area? What's it like?

Thanks ahead of time,

Kate

It's the island with the airport on it. There wasn't a whole heck of a lot on it before the airport, but there were a couple of spots popular for 'Membership Training'. I can't imagine that there are any ESL schools on it [yet].

Thanks Bulsajo,

I know it is the island with the airport on it but I just wondered what kind of place it would be like to live on. A Korean freind of mine has a freind who is opening up a hakwon there and she has offered me a job.

What is "Membership Training?"

Tired from checking emails from Korea at 3am...

The airport town over there is rapidly building, still quite small. Lots of airport workers live there, it has a younger demographic & a higher than usual percentage speak pretty good english. Some I spoke with liked living there because it's a new & clean community with an international flavor. One drawback -- you have to pay a toll any time you want to visit elsewhere.

Or pay for a ferry ride to Wolmido.

There original plans for the airport had 2 or 3 bridges and a tunnel (at least one out to Songdo/Inchon, and one for a ferry/train)- are they still building those or have they been put on hold indefinitely?

I personally wouldn't want to work on Yeongjongdo unless the job offer was too good to pass up...

Right, membership training, forgot to reply- what Kirk said, except with regard to Yeongjongdo I was thinking more of Uni students getting really crazy and leaving tons upon tons of garbage all over what would otherwise be scenic beaches.
