| The only thing not censored on this board is anti-Christian/anti-Catholic posts. |

| I've seen plenty on these boards that should have been censored and wasn't. The post in question was an attack on one specific person who committed heinous acts -- apart from the fact that he's dead and isn't going to read what people say about him anyway. |

Hey Kelly,
I have to agree with those who say that your baby's dad doesn't have to be catholic. When I had my daughter baptised....that was almost 15 years ago but surely the Catholic religion doesn't change their "rules"....I was a single mom, the only thing they asked was that at least one of her godparents be Catholic. My advice.....did you attend a church back home? How about your family? Perhaps they could get you a number? I understand how you are feeling, its a part of the circle of the Catholic religion, the baby must be baptised as soon as possible...if you can make a long distance call to a church to you are from....perhaps they can give you some advice..? Jee...even if there is some kind of proxy thing they could do for you until you can get him home. Perhaps they could even make some calls for you....you never know ....anything is worth a shot. Your boyfriend/fiance is in the military...right? Do they have a priest/minister...someone on base..? Is this who has refused to baptise him? |

It was both churches on base and off base that refused, and both because his dad isn't catholic. As you said, its nothing like this at home, people don't have to be the same religion, or even married for that matter to have their kids baptized......guess the church here is just a little more strict.... |
