This is quite common. When I first saw the heavy duty blow dryer at my gym I thought great, I have really curly hair and I can use it to iron it. After seeing its actual purpose methinks not. |

| It's common for guys in England to cover one nostril with a finger and blow snot out the other one when they get out of the swimming pool. Pretty disgusting eh? Try doing that in the mokyokdang just to get a reaction. |

| A Baskin Robbins worker brushing her teeth in uniform, behind the counter, spitting her gunk into the sink, then going back to work--but the urine stories, there must be a million of them. |

Western levels of hygiene have been overboard for years. We are brought up to see germs everywhere. The world isn't that dangerous IMO.
Yes. Some Korean habits can be a bit of an eye-opener but the only thing I see in Korea which offends me can't actually be seen. It's the overpowering smell of urine in some public/restaurant/bar toilets. I can't believe Koreans are immune to that smell either. Clean the frickin bogs once in a while please!!!
Exception: Outback restaurants have the most immaculate, fresh smelling toilets I've seen in Korea. 3 kinds of soap!!! Kudos to Outback. |

eamo is right about the Western over-reaction.
I once met a doctor who recommended everyone to eat a 'spoonful' of dirt once a day to keep the immune system going strong.
Don't let the fact that he was also a nudist who ran around the mountains wearing only tennis shoes distract you from my main point. |

Well at least that is the correct room - I have seen moms here whip out juniors gochu in the middle of a Mc. Donalds so the little emperor could piss in a cup. No kidding. Seen it multiple times as well. Culture my ass- that is peasant behavior, pure and simple. |
Yep,every dumb thing a Korean doesthey blame it on culture. Puhleeeeeeeeze!!! |

Visited a Tabang once to get a cup of Urmul Cha. Anyway I go the rest room to relieve myself, but what do I see around the base of the toilet seat (western sit down style). About 50 to 60 open bottles of water to be delivered to customers. I couldn't believe it. A drunk could easily miss and discourge urine into any of the bottles. Who knows what else could have gone into them or did go into them.
Place was ripe for a cholera outbreak |

Well, on my way to work one morning I saw a middle-aged Korean man with his pants down around his ankles squatting in front of Lotte Mart in the grass. I guess he was fertilizing it..... |

Saw a woman helping her kid pee in a cup in the dairy section of Walmart. Who gave her the cup? The employees standing and watching in the dairy section.
Was in the men's washroom at the Carrefoure store. As I walked in, 3 employees were leaving, having used the urinal, but not WASHED THEIR HANDS!! As I was there, 2 more came in, used the urinals, walked by the sink and went back to work. Food section level. Wife wrote a complaint up.
Everybody's kid is pissing somewhere they shouldn't, usually boys 'cause that's the culture here(men, and boys, do whatever they want wherever they want). |
I NEVER see that many ladies washing their hands after going to the bathroom. All dressed up and looking nice, but they don't wash those darn hands!!!!!!! No wonder I keep colds here. |

That one really gets me going and I am NOT quiet about telling the idiots who are using the dryer to blow dry their private AND get this...their anal area.... to stop it!!
How inconsiderate are people!?!? I use (not any more though! I use that hair dryer to dry my hair!
I see these idiots every time I go to a sauna..squating down and blow drying their anal area!
I don't care what anyone says...many koreans do NOT have manners and do NOT respect others or show respect.
Peeing in McD's! How awful! And we all know that McD's have restrooms!
Same with Wal-Mart!
And what's with the idiots who see it and say nothing?!?!?
Most k women do not have sophistication, grace or tact. And sure lack finesse!
What do they teach in school? Or is it learned behavior?
Miss Manners would have a field day in korea! Shed shake her head and sayforget it! No use even trying to educate them!
YeahI am knocking koreans this time and mean it. No need to let your child pee in a cup in a restaurant! Or pee next to a tree or a drainage hole when a restaurant is nearby or a shopping center is nearby with a restroom!
Why pee on a treeare you dogs?
I have seen GROW university girls..(they are not women)..squatting down next to a tree or building on campus peeing! Do I give then hell! And the stink eye and a tongue lashing! No need to be ignorant!
Go ahead and flame meI dont care! why should I let you or anyone get away with doing these types of things? |
I TOTALLY agree with you. Most Korean women I see eat like pigs. They eat like they haven't ate in years. Some of them laugh like they are gasping for air. It sounds stupid. Now Ihave some Korean girl friends. They are not all this way. But a good majority of them have zero class. |
