|

My girl has it in her mind that she wants us to get couple rings. We checked out a store in the Kangnam Subway -- she said they were overpriced and they looked like crap quality to me anyway.
My next idea is for us to go to Jongno. Any ideas?
Oh, to those who have gotten those before, did you split the cost? |

There is a building that sells only jewelry next to the Express Bus terminal in Seocho, Gangnam. I am sure your gf will know about it. |

we got ours in jongno but they aren't all very good quality. we didn't want to get anything top-quality and expensive anyway because we knew we would soon be getting wedding bands. depends what you're looking for, I guess. but, i'm sure there are a lot of good quality rings therel. |

I always giggle when I hear a Korean say couple ring. You know they sometimes say it like coupling, which pf course means something different that can be used in the same kind of situation. |

Derrek, I didn't realize you had a girlfriend. Last I heard of your love life you were deciding between mother and daughter... I guess the choice you made worked out for you.
Anyway, do Koreans usually wear couple rings on their wedding fingers? Is that why I've seen so many seemingly engaged/married students on campus in the past?
Sorry I couldn't help with the OP's questions. |

With my track record, cheap is good!
Actually, another female friend suggested I split the cost. But I have suspected that friend wants us to break it off, anyway.
My friend is sort of the jealous type, and we dated before I started dating this girl, although it seemed to only be friendship. We've remained friends for maybe a year since, and she's met my girlfriend. |

My girlfriend mentioned something about couple rings 7 years ago or so.
I just laughed. |

Casey's, yes they do. When I first came, my husband hired this fresh graduate and he had a gold band on his wedding finger. I thought he was married so I asked him but he said it was just a couple ring. I had never heard of couple rings until I got here. I had a promise ring my husband (not husband then) bought me in Florence but he didn't get one for himself...
Derrek, I really would not suggest that you split the cost. Like Peppermint said, she would kick your backside into next week.. or next month, or even next year....
Anyway, hope you find that perfect ring. |

I laughed when my girlfriend suggested it too. We ended up getting them anyways. I hate wearing rings. |

Hey, not as funny as you think....
My girl saw the prices in Kangnam and made the comment that actual Tiffany's rings are cheaper! And they are Tiffany! |
