What an unbelievably ignorant comment.

No, I never wrote that. All I suggested was that perhaps people who mindlessly celebrate St. Patrick's Day should take a moment to consider the pain of others before leaping onto the bandwagon.

Hopefully you just posted without really thinking, because whichever way you chose to spin it, what you said was ridiculous.

mindlessly celebrate

How about refraining from mindless comment, you idiot.

Ridiculous in the extreme!

Yeah, I guess you're right: thinking about the reasons for doing things in life as opposed to just leaping on the bandwagon does seem quite ridiculous in the extreme. Tanks a million!

Hmm, maybe you're right, I should think about the reasons for doing things:

The reason for marking St Patrick's day is because it's a celebration of a fine country.
The reason for saying "Well maybe you should think about the IRA instead" is because you're a goon on a messageboard who likes to stir up trouble.

That helped a lot, thanks for the tip!

There are other ways to know than just by using your mind. There are days when my whole body wants to celebrate, regardless of the fact that I have school in the morning. Reasons are good, but there are other ways to know why. Does the mind understand why one wants to dance? Perhaps it does, but does it originate there? I guess this really isn't where this conversation was going. I would much rather justify celebration than find another reason to be glum. Celebration needs no 'why.' ... unless that helps you feel more in control? Very Happy This is not an accusation- just further exploration of the topic.

-Saint patrick

-Terrorist

djbackdoor
-Idiot

Now, I'll admit that he does look a bit threatening with that big stick. Easy to see where the confusion might have arisen. And I suppose one must include the ethnic cleansing of snakes from Ireland in any assesment of St. Patrick's character.

Whacking day

Maybe we ought to have St. Patrick brought up on genocide charges??Does anyone have Amnesty's phone number nearby?
