One of the things that drives me crazy is officaldom but here in korea it seems to be worse.

There seems to be too much of if I'm not caught then I'm not doing anything wrong menatilty here.

The specific problem here is that the public schools don't know what the rules are for employing teachers here and seem to follow one of two courses of action

a) we did it this way in the past so it's fine. don't change
or b) school b down the road is doing this so it's fine.

Immigration doesn't make things easy on us though. Information is not gathered together consicely in korean and getting consistent answers out of there seems near on impossple. Coupled with the fact that when immigraiton does change policies it doesn't communicate them well at all seems to make things worse. In the end it's us who pays big time. Because when we lose our job here we also lose our home and our right to stay here (leaving aside the f2 people).
