I got UNO. The kids like it. Monopoly has been good in the past. I might get that (again) too. Not much English learning maybe, but better than restless noisy kids who ignore me I guess.

Life game is good, lots of English in it.

Buy the card games Go Fish, Crazy Cards and any others that strike your fancy. Kids love em all.

Scrabble is always excellent.

Where can you get scrabble chips in Korea?

Mr Johns sells scrabble both the juvenile and the adult versions.
I have also seen them at several other stores that cater to English.

The Mr Johns I go to is in Suwon youngtong-dong right near the Home Plus. Great selection of textbooks, supplementary materials and games(I also got my glow in the dark Vampire teeth from there for Halloween)

My way advanced classes love risk! Great game and we play in teams. Very Happy

Younger classes love Outburst, boggle, pictionary and guess who?

We are only allowed to play a 'game' once every two weeks, so it never gets boring.

Thanks for that - I'll go looking for a Mr Johns, then. Never heard of the place, actually. I really try not to lowering the standard to just throwing a ball around, like I'm rewarding a pack of dogs (no matter how suitable the parallel might be), but pictionary and hangman can only stay fun for so long.

Are we talking about Little John's bookstore? I'm not trying to nitpick if that's what you meant, I'm just checking in case there is another store I don't know about. My thinking is that you meant Little John's as it's kitty corner to the Homeplus in Yongtong dong.

Yong Poon bookstore in Jonggak station has a big selection of card games and board games (including Life and Outburst), though they are quite pricey.

Little Johns is what I meant...I couldnt decide whether to call it Capt Johns or Little Johns so I settled on Mr Johns.

Thanks

Don't recall seing "Sorry" here. I think "Masterpiece" would be a good one. The painting on auction for 100,000 -1,000,000 -- good for numbers, and "may buy" or "must sell." Another good one when I was a kid was "Careers".Haven't seen that in a long time. I taught adults with good English once, but they could not figure out "Clue". It just seemed too complex for them I guess. It's available here though.

For middleschool and up "WordUp" is great! Cranium (older) or Cadoo (younger or less advanced) is good. There is a GREAT game called STARE (I got the JR edition) whis is REALLY good. Players stare at a picture for 30 seconds, then answer questions about the picture.

Loaded Questions (picked it up on my last trip to the States) is great for conversation classes (works best with small classes...and I don't use the "game" just the cards!).

Always a hit with my kiddie classes:

"When you encounter vulgarity youll inch nearer to victory. Nice things will just hamper your chances! Play Vulgarville for the chance to screw over other players, read out dirty jokes, tell funny stories and keep score on a very large p*nis. And at the end of the game, you'll experience an exciting fight among you and your rivals as you strive to claim victory and become Mayor."

There's a bookshop beside the TGI Friday's by the CGV Incheon where I found all sorts of scrabble games. They don't have the Vulgarville game, though - can I get that in Korea? I can think of some kids who'd just love it.

Some of you must have really long classes if you have time for Monopoly.
