| I'm thinking more games may help, games they like that is. Need to convince them to try to do their work for the first 30 minutes though. Thing is, that not-so-good material makes that hard. |

Make friends. No matter how miserable a class is, you should be able to win over at least one kid and that should snowball into a couple etc.
Peer pressure works wonders when you get it working for you. |

| Every class has at least one good kid, of course. It's the tone of the class that matters. One obstacle is weak material. |

sigh intensive English Kindie
It is hell, the kids hate it, they come right after real school gets out, the still have all their stuff with them, they just want to go home, they are hungry and tired. I keep my goals for them simple: no crying, no sleeping, no wandering about the room. If we get that accomplished then maybe we get to work in our books, sing a song, and stamp some shit. Kids really like the stamps. |

I hope you're joking. Such resentment must be felt by your students.
That said, now that you mention it, there is this one kid... |
See, I bet you're feeling better already. I have something pretty similar-- a list of people who should be shot without trial should the revolution come. Former Sen. Phil Gramm has been on the list the longest. I have a couple of completely unreasonable customers on the list, too. Then there are some people who have harmed friends or relatives.
I think I can make the case that this list actually reaffirms faith in humanity, considering that there are only 17 names on it at present out of a world population of billions. |
