the nasty dog lad used to post on the thorn tree (lonely planet). angry, angry young man. sometimes pretended to korean by typing in hangul (although his grammar was a lot better in korean, leading my girlfriend to suggest it was his partner writing up). who knows? i wish him the best. i wonder what he is doing now. i wonder if he is still in the movies.
i'm one of those strange ones without a liberal arts degree ;) , yet even i felt the pull towards kicking around in asia. well, actually, i met my girl back home. aiyoh~! now that i think about it, she's just like a GI taking me to live in her home country. i'm a god damn mail order groom.
gang ah, you're leaving the country?
i've lost my way with this post. where was i? ah yesh...
cool, we're still trapped.

| I've been here almost as long as jajdude, but I usually spend a month or more between contracts, sleeping on the family sofa and surfing the net for my next contract - I tried shopping around while in-country, but I was spending most of my time in pc bangs anyway, and it's a very good to hang with my brother for a while when I can, besides there's only so long a fella can go without putting a really good burrito inside ya, I mean a good one, not the things you sometimes find over here ... |
But those Beef Burritos at Chilis at Noksapyeong Station are pretty damn good! I've probably had a couple dozen in the last month or so. |

| Beating a dead horse again, I see. Are there losers in Korea? Yes. Are there people teaching here who are unqualified to teach in public schools back home? Yes. Are there bored, uninspired people who feel trapped in both countries? Of course. With that said, I don't think it has to be such a challenge for someone who has been living in Asia to return home and get a job. It might not be your dream job, it might be more difficult and pay less, but you can go back. Take a large amount of money though. Get some skills, though. If you want to continue teaching, it shouldn't be much of a problem if you already have a degree. If you want to do something else, get a plan and start now. |
