|

My boss paid me in those 100,000 check things. I managed to change one after midnite at a convenience store after 3 other convenience stores would not accept it. Anyway, I had not trouble using them at more major places. |

hey its no different if you went into a 7/11 back home with a hundred dollar bill. Many conveneince stores dont have the change on hand to break one. |

I was carrying one for 45,000,000 the other day. They rock. Shame I had to give it to my landlord though..... |

Yeah, it is a shame. Why would you give it all to him?
If you had given it to me, I would have split it with you. |

What is weird is that some places will give you a razz and others will not. One guy said he could not verify the authenticity of it, as dates were unclear on the bill. My korean is poor, but i understood that much. So up the road i went and the next convenience store, no questions asked, no signature asked. A bar would not accept one a while ago (asked for id), but the other 2 or 3 I tried (over the course of a few weeks) did, esp. when the amount owed was over 20 or 30 bucks. Then I guess they got little choice.
I wonder if you are well dressed and presentable.... I bet more places would not question it.
Also wonder... has there been a problem with these bills? Any counterfeiting? One almost feels guilty using them. |

I just deposit them at my bank. No big deal.
Or I keep a few for the end of the month. E-Mart always takes them even if I only spend 10,000 won. I have never been asked for ID or had to sign them in E-Mart. |

Yeah, Emart or other big stores are no problem. I usually get asked to sign and write my phone number though. Doesn't matter. You could scribble down anything. |

I had a few of those recently, paid to me by a friend, and the bank wanted to write it in my passport! |
