My friend teaching in Korea sent me a funny e-mail yesterday amd an even funnier e-mail this morning:

Quote:
on a funny note... a streeker (not sure on the spelling of that word) streeked through our school two days ago. it was an ajoshi. BEEPING pervert. i didn't see it, but i heard the yelling and screaming. I mentioned this to BEEP and she wasn't at all surprised. she said that that happens often especially in korean high schools. crazy

Second e-mail:

Quote:
hey, remember i told you about the streaker at our school? well i found out who he is. he is the boss of one of the nearby hogwans. he did it because he was pissed off that all the students are leaving his school and coming ot my school

that is BEEPING funny

Anyone hear about this? No? Not surprised.

But if he was a foreigner, bet your bottom dollars there would be a huge stink about it.

Korean hippocrites!

Is this true? Where is it? What area?

I want to tell this one to my co-workers here at my girls' high school.

It was Shim Shim (from the old board).

I'll PM you his phone number. He can tell you all about it. Apparantly everyone thought it was "no big deal", which really bothers me because as we all know, had he been a foreigner...

Nearly every girls' high school in Korea has their dealings with "Burberry men" (flashers). We have two of them who requent the Bundang area. One is maybe 30 or 40s, the other is University age, and hangs out around Jung-ang park in Bundang.

I REALLY hope to catch one of them here. I'll steal his coat and run away with it, or throw it in the school pond -- forcing him to go all the way home naked. Some of our students did a news story about it, which I can stream online once I get some issues worked out with my web page.

We have a small mountain behind our school, and the Korean teachers said they think it's someone from the military outpost somewhere at the top of the small mountain.

Update:

Quote:
Don't you actually read my emails? or novels? whatever the *beep* you wanna call them. yes, i know i sometimes get verbal diiarreah, but that is no excuse to skim read the emails. anyways, as stated in a previous email, it is a very common occurance in korea. streaking that is. when i told yeon about it, she wasn't at all surpised as it happened at her high school a couple of times and it happens at all high schools in korea. it is a normal part of korean life. now THAT is BEEPED up.

Quote:
what happened to the guy at my school? well the police did arrest him. as for his hogwan, i don't know what is going to happen, but i don't think it matters much because his business was faling anyway (my school was stealing his students). I got 4 new students yesterday.....blah blah how's the weather...(goes into personal stuff)

I find it fasinating in that Korea sits upon such a high horse when it comes t pointing fingers at other countries until it occurs in their own back yard. Hence the reason for this post.

Sidenote,

Yeah I have been trying to get at your site for some time, Derrek. What's up with that?
