I like to drink with the koreans, but sometimes I just want to hangout and have normal conversations in english.

So where are the foriegner bars in Kangnam?

Mind you, I dont want to travel all the way to itawon.

It's been a while for me (sorry PM)

Best "foreigner" bars were the hotels bars, Novotel has a place on the ground floor called Gran A, $$, bands from the Philipines (Hotel California, etc), they also have a nightclub in the basement $$$$. The Ritz has a couple of bars also. Note, at the Gran A a plate of Anju is not required, but the beers will run you about $9,000. The others require some cash.

- Lexus used to be pretty cool, I looked for it a month or so ago and couldn't find it (quite buzzed at the time). It's off a perpendicular street to the street that Burger King is on. The place next to it was good too (by good I might overcrowded, overpriced, unisex toilet, beat pumping, fire death traps, but quite likely to walk away with a pocketful of phone numbers.

- To the south and above BK is All that Jazz (or something like that), last month construction was going on but it looked like it was still open, cheap draft here, good place to start.

Anyways, hopefully this is a start ?

Star bar

there are also several new brewpubs. these are all in the vicinity of gangnam station.

XXXX is more like a Hongdae disco than a bar...but...where in hongdae will you see girls poll-dancing in short skirts without their shirts on?

EXACTLY... Wink

I liked fourex (XXXX) - it was always my last bar on Sundays in Seoul, before hopping the midnight-run bus back down to Chang-won.

Everything said above is true, and i could add in more stories. Twisted Evil

however, the floods haven't been kind to the place, and the last time I went some few months back, the place had an odor - stale-beery, mildewy/moldy/funky (funky like Vanilla Ice, not Bootsy Collins).

I never paid a 'foreigner fee' there, however.

G.

Is my favorite...its a small venue and they are real nice...you'll usually find a mixture of koreans and foreigners in there.

And Beer is cheap like 2,500 for a glass and 7k for a pitcher

another great thing about "woodstock"...they take requests and have *ssloads of tunes.

unfortunately, they tend to play the music at the highest possible volume so you have to be fairly well-praticed at lip reading.
