I just bought a new Western Digital 200GB hard drive from Yongsan.
For some reason it (or my computer) thinks that it's only 132GB.
This was before I made any partitions or messed with it
How can I fix this? can I fix this?
As always, your help is appreciated |

Ok, did some digging on the net.
My drive is a S-ATA one.
From what I've read today, theres some inadequacy in XP that limits HDD size
see this link.http://www.techimo.com/forum/t137981.html
It's been corrected in the new versions but my copy is really old with no service packs. I need to download sp1 or above to enable the recognition of any disk bigger than 130GB.
No internet at home til next week so I'll test this theory then.
Sorted, I hope. |

Could it be that your drive was partioned? Check if you have more drivers listed than you have. |

It's no theory. WinXP (pre-SP'ed) only sees 130 +/- GB. SATA or EIDE. |
