is anyone else encountering sketchyness with their afterschool program? i'm talking specifically about how they pay? is it true that they can't hire the korean teacher and that's why we need a joint bank account that i don't have access to?

i feel so stupid has anyone else actually run into this?

Hi, i'm expert on hose things. The reasons you need another bank accout

1) The school business cannot put you into a school by law. You yourself are contracting with the school. It looks like you have an employee-employer arrangemnt with your school business but you do not. That second account is for the school to pay the school business. the school business then takes their cut and gives you some of what is left over.

2) The second reason is and I am not certain that they use it for tax avoidence. When you work for the school, yopu'll make 3.6 million won. That is your salary at least that is what I was told by Seoul immigration . I'm quite certain I owe taxes on 3.6 million a month not the 2 million I was getting from the school business. The difference in tax is 70,000 for the lower pay and 250,000 for the higher pay. The school business does this to rip you off.

The school business act like an HR dept but you really don't work for them.
If you go to labor board, you go against the school, not the school business. They will also try to get out of pension. You can let them out of pension as long as you get another W100,000 up front each month.

Major caveat. Do not step into a school with out your permission stamp.
If they do try to make you, tell them you are turning them inot immigration and go to the 2nd floor investigator and narc them out. Do this when you are supposed to be in school. Immigration is aware that schools will try to make teachers work illegally. If this is the case, you may be able to get out of the contract.

Witht hese double deposit scams, you can get all of that money, 3.6 million if you want but I need to tell you how.

These deals can be good but the Koreans just seem to wanna make trouble. There are ways to make these contracts good but for now I have answered your question.
