champion, straightedge hardcore band from seattle, WA on bridge 9 records, are playing 3 shows in the greater seoul area in april. all shows also feature local bands THE GEEKS, 13 STEPS and THINGS WE SAY.
april 1 anyang, at club rock sin with guests bless the urban
april 2 hongdae, seoul at skunk hell with guests rux
april 3 chungju at pearl jam with local guests TBA
it should be wide, folks. even if you're not down with this type of music it's interesting - they're the 3rd western hardcore band to play in korea to my knowledge.
i'll be posting maps to the clubs soon.

Ooh, thanks for the headsup. Should I get tickets in advance or is it a show up at the door and find standing room type thing? Never been to any of the above mentioned clubs, so I gotta ask. |

Yeah, but after seeing some of the hard core gangster rap types over here I figure you can't be too careful. I was thinking I should ask if I'd need to wear a tie.
But if so I'm not going, so it really don't matter. |

Well, for the Anyang set, here's some stuff...
It's Friday April 1st at Rockssin (where else), doors at 6(!), performances start at 6:30(!!!)... Champion (the main group) plays from 9:10-10:00... 8000 won at the door.
Kinda licks that it starts so early, as I'd reckon a lot of the workin' folk don't get off til around eight-ish, including a few of my definite would-be attendee friends... I s'pose it may be big with a lot of student types, too, but the English teacher demographic certainly would bring in some decent gate... Oh well, I'll be there for the last three groups, most likely- damn evening class... |

i'll mention that to the organizers. see the skunk hell shows usually close early so people from the 'burbs can take the subway back, so i guess the kids assume that all punk shows end at a certain time. |
