Yes me hairy like monkey
me comfortable with self
me no worry what little children think
me like seeing students happy
Maybe it helps them get over their shyness and accept me. In the end its an individual choice. If you dont feel comfortable with it dont allow it. |

I got "Teacher - Lion King!" once, and it stuck with the kids for a while...
Again, same as the OP, I'm not a hairy guy by any standards...
C'mon, RR, haven't you ever seen kids back home after a kung fu movie or something, doin' the karate chops, speaking gibberish in what they think sounds kung fu-ish, perhaps even pulling at the corners of their eyes to make them more Asian...? They're kids... |

The kids are calling me Jongu now, also. I guess he's a white cartoon character with short black hair, so it looks like me but .. he's fat! I'm so skinny.
These kids are hilarious. They make me laugh all the time. |

When Koreans call us monkeys I just retort with the following, "what colour hair does a monkey have?" and "what colour are a monkey's eyes?" It shuts them up. |

Is it really that difficult to spot a typing error? You really do have nothing other than links to the Korean Herald to offer this board do you? |

The way I look at it is: anything that gets the students to interact and talk with a foreigner is a bonus! Even 'teacher is monkey' is three more English words they have learned and used.
Even the longest journey begins with one step! |

This is the second typo I've seen him point out. Maybe he's found a new thing? Does RR get laid often?

The last time a student called me "monkey teacher" I stuck a pencil through his eye. That'll teach these damn five year olds to disrespect me.
These days they march in unison and bow before me. If I want friends I'll go to a goddamn room salon. |

Not often enough obviously. Maybe he can post up his pic and we can help him get a gf. |
