Hey everyone!
My boyfriend and I are hoping to come to Korea to teach ESL next year. I have a Masters in Science (and will have CELTA soon) and was wondering if in addition to ESL work, would there be opportunities to help scientific reseach groups translate their work into English for publication in scientific journals?
Especially in the area I work in, you read articles from research groups in non-English speaking countries (esp Asia) and the translation isn't that great (makes you wonder how they got acepted- and how many didn't get accepted!). Would that be a possiblity?
Cheers!! |

It would not be legal, I'm sure. Work visas in any country are very restrictive, limiting you to earning money at the job you were brought in to perform.
But working under the table is the Korean way. Put up some flyers around one of the major Korean universities offering your services. Of course don't use your real name on the flyer and an easy to trace email. |

Fair call!! I noticed the typos JUST after I hit 'submit"- isnt it always the way?? Never mind...
Thank you so much for the links!!
I thought maybe getting some additional work might be an interesting diversion from teaching English, and it might keep the scientific side of my brain working! |
