Has anyone played paintball in or around Seoul, or anywhere in Korea for that matter? I played a lot in Canada, a lot of tournaments etc. so I'm hoping for something like that around here. But I'd be happy with anything.

Also, if anyone knows anything, I'm also wondering about buying equipment or having it shipped from home.

Panthermodern knows.

There are games being played near Daejeon.. and probably somewhere in Seoul.

I've never played before.. but ALWAYS wanted to.. and STILL want to.

Let me know what you find out!

Some co-workers and I were looking into this a few weeks ago. Apparently the one in Uijeongbu is really good-

James, you live in Sunae, right? There is a store that sells models and, I believe, Paint Ball stuff too. It's in the building between the new Sushi restaurant and the WA bar, I think. Ground floor.

I'll check out adventurekorea, thanks!

Where is Sunae? I wouldn't mind checking out a paintball shop.

It's a very small shop... I hate to make you take a trip here and find it's not what you want. It's Sunae station in bundang. On the yellow line.

The store at Sunae is an Airsoft Shop.

Airsoft is simular to paintball, a little more hard core, and "realistic".

there is paintball at "muju" mountain, 1 hour from daejeon. its pretty crap playing area ie, big massive blow up balls, triangles etc, but its good for a laugh, and the "head shot only" rule is a blast! they give full protective gear and is reasonably cheap. also the mountain is really nice, accesable by cable car.

Just ten minutes north of Jinju is a paintball and rafting company place.

My students and I just did them both today, Friday, my day off (but such an offer I couldn't refuse!).

Lots of old oil barrels and those big wooden wheels and trees and shrubs and rocks, and even uneven ground, as the course is between a steep incline to a highway on one side, and a slope downhill to the river.

We played "Survivor" as they call it. It's paintball, with no purpose, other than blue helmet team vs. "red" (pink!) helmet team, maybe trying to be the last one standing.

It was fun but darn those paintballs cause some decent sized welts on one's body (as observed more than experienced Wink )

Korean teamwork and strategy? Nonexistent at first. It was frustrating trying to rally some forces to circle around and attack the opponents' flank. All they wanted to do was stand behind something and shoot (as soon as shot or run out of bullets one has to leave the course, rifle above one's head).

I saved my ammo and circled around on the left, using the slope down to the river as cover, emerging close enough to four guys shooting from behind a wodden wheel to... take them out, bam bam bam, broadsided them all. The fourth one dropped back and I turned to an oil barrel to take on two more when the retreating one shot a couple of quickies one luckily getting me in the ribs (I knew I should SQUAT! or better retreat and resume outflanking them). We played a second round, but this time a couple of my students on the opposing team decided to exact revenge by targeting me early (the first sign of teamwork and strategy by them). I got pinned behind an oil barrel, and to escape being surrounded I had to run and slide down a small slope, covered with rocks, scraping and bruising my legs and arms in the process (ouch). Four guys eventually cornered me: I took one of them out before the guy who had said he would get me indeed put a paintball square on my helmet. Damn. That was fun. In coming off the course, I walked around the back of the course to avoid getting shot in the crossfire, rifle above my head (worried about students taking potshots for fun too) and as I made my way around I noticed Rose, a timid girl, sitting at the back hoping none of the action comes her way; I gave her my paint pellets but I'm pretty sure she didn't use any until the end when coming out she squeezed off a couple, more as coverfire to get them ducking. She didn't get any paint on her. The only timid student today in the whole bunch of boys and girls.

I don't like violence nor war movies but playing that game with my students was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing. And it gives us a common fun experience to joke about all day long (we had lunch together, about 60 of us, and then rafting down the river).

I dunno if it would be as much fun playing with other adults. Some guys take it so seriously and I wouldn't get to see someone struggling to just raise the heavy rifles Laughing

My boyfriend sells/distributes paintball equipment in Mexico and is moving here in a couple of weeks. If the OP or anyone else is interested in purchasing anything, PM me for details.
