How would you describe the typical evolution of a thread here? How do they so often stray from the original point? At what point does the bickering begin? How many replies are required before you are told 'Korea:love it or leave it!" When do the true "authorities" regarding life in Korea step in?

That's pretty much it. Posters that go looking for a fight, usually find it. People that need to vent about something, and all things Korean is their outlet du jour, will continue to do so, and get the flak from those that enjoy living here. But you can't say 'love it or leave it' to them anymore, because they have crafted a new air-tight defence mechanism like saying 'that is such a tired statement' or some other debate juggernaut like that.

Hijacking a thread is rude, but just this afternoon I saw an old Korean guy blowing snotrockets on the sidewalk.

fruitcake, you forgot an important section....the "Korea, if your here bash everything about it" group.

They too make a large (far larger in fact) contribution to thread bickering... Laughing

But anyways, you are right, threads do spin out of control on here sometimes.

I apologize HOmer, well, I was just walking down the street today, and this old azuma pushed me, then I stepped in dog pooh, then a bunch of kids started following me and yelling 'hello', and then the pizza man put corn on my pizza, and then the old people outside my apartment started going through my garbage.

Oh well, then, I read your post, and I just had to react. sorry.

I never had much luck with cheese in korea. Always had to settle for the singles. My parents were over last week though and brought me a thing of blue cheese and some really good blue cheese dressing. Love that stuff...

get yourself a Costco membership. There's a few around Seoul, and they have some decent cheese. Finally got my membership last weekend. Now I have some good Tillamook Pepperjack cheese in the fridge.

What were we talking about again? Laughing
