For Jongnoguru... I'd say you'd get the most use out of a portable media player, not from using it for movies, but for TV shows.

First, you wouldn't really be sacrificing much in the way of quality, because most downloaded tv shows are nowhere near DVD quality anyway. Second, a 30 minute sitcom, without commercials, is 22 minutes. So, for a 1 hour show, that's 44 minutes or so. Personally, my morning commute is about 20 minutes each direction. So, that's perfect for 2 sitcoms or one 'hour' long show.

Which is why I'm considering one, although I haven't yet made up my mind.

The appeal of these things is that they double as an extra hard drive. Also, you can just download movies and shows straight to them, move them over to your TV and plug them in to watch.

No need to burn discs.
