Without knowing more, it sure looks like it's what they're talking about. Very sad.

Could you please tell us this man's name if you know it? We know enough details to know it was a Newfoundlander killed in Daejeon. We may as well know the rest of it rather than be left hanging.

I know of a guy who lived in Busan (unless he moved in the last few months) who was killed in a motorcycle accident either yesterday or today. I think he was from Quebec though or at least lived in Montreal before he came to Korea. That's what I remember him telling me.

There are many of us from Newfoundland in Korea, this guy was from a small commnity of Blaketown... a beautiful place... Newfoundland is a closely knit province... and all of us morn the death of this young man.

Another reminder to be careful in foreign lands, or wherever you are I guess these days.

Take care up there you guys.

Are any of his friends/colleagues or acquaintances in touch with his family now? They will be needing some support from someone who is here in Daejeon and who knew their son. I have firsthand experience with losing a loved one who is outside of their home country and it adds a whole extra dimension to the tragedy. I hope someone (crazykiwi perhaps?) has been able to speak with the young man's parents. I don't know the victim, but if there is anything I can do to help at all, please p.m. me.

I don't know the guy but am good friends with the one guy who saw what happened, and it was not Daejon, it was in Ulsan. Apparently the guy was one of 8 motorcyclists chugging along; six of them passed an intersection, this guy got hit, who was the seventh, and my friend was the eighth. It's a horrible thing to happen to anybody, and especially when you're so far from home.

My friend told me that this was the 2nd death in less than a week. One was a guy from Busan (Montreal guy, I believe) who was killed riding his bike near Ulsan and the other guy was from Newfoundland.

Wherever it was, RIP.

The guys name was Jason. He was 28 yrs old and from Canada. He hit a tree coming out of the Daeduk Tunnel in Jungmin dong, Daejon; riding his motorbike at around 4:00am Saturday. This is all fact from a reliable police source. Whether there was alcohol or not, I do not know

No he is quite right mate. There must have been two deaths this week. not good at all. the information he gave is accurate according to most people i have spoken too. Anyway. lets not argue with semantics, and just have a moment to think what happened, and how easy it is to leave this earth. laterz
