Hey, can I use the word 'acumen' as an adjective? Like an 'acumen experience', or some other combination? I know language constantly changes, have any of you ever used it as an adjective? Thanks!

I'd be a bigger help if I could ever straighten out my grammar.

I've never heard of an "acumen experience". I've read, "with particular acumen" (which is a description, that doesn't make it an adjective though, does it?).

I'm working on Wiktionary right now so I'll just copy what it says there. Not an authoritative source but it doesn't seem to be an adjective. Might be wrong though, Wiktionary's not all that old and has a lot of stub articles still.

Acumen is the noun, hence "business acumen". Every word you use with acumen should be describing what type of acumen it is. It'svery similar to personality, so use it in the same text as you would describing a persons feelings, charisma and personality.

I am of the understanding you can use any noun as an adjective. They are called modifying nouns.

Kimchi = noun

Jigae= noun

Kimchi jigae = kimchi as an adjective, jigae as a noun.

tea = noun

long Island = noun

etc etc
yipee, am I smart?

I don't think you can use any noun as an adjective. Like... house. How could that be an adjective?

But anyway, a good teacher doesn't give answers but shows how to find them.

www.m-w.com

or

www.dictionary.com

They will show you the possible usages of the word "acumen", I think.

I got housed at the bar the other night and ended up sleeping on the street in a pool of my own vomit.
