Ten Reasons to Throw out your Microwave Oven

From the conclusions of the Swiss, Russian and German scientific clinical studies, we can no longer ignore the microwave oven sitting in our kitchens. Based on this research, we will conclude this article with the following:

1). Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term - permanent - brain damage by "shorting out" electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].

2). The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-products created in microwaved food.

3). Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods.

4). The effects of microwaved food by-products are residual [long term, permanent] within the human body.

5). Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit, or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down.

6). The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.

7). Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths [tumors]. This may explain the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer in America.

8. The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.

9). Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.

10). Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

Huh? duhhhh....

I've always been that guy who's never wanted to be close to a microwave while it's going in the first place... this doesn't help. Not good for you while it runs, not good for the food cooked in it..

.. ahhhh hold that though.. my microwave burritos are ready...

The thing is that we do not CONTINUALLY eat microwaved food. We use it fo defrosting, sometomes reheating.... that's all.. but I don't think i can live without one!

Wow, I didn't realize The Christian Law Institute was a recognized medical journal. JAMA must have really missed the boat on this study.

The article is so much trash.

The thing about pieces like this that bothers me most is people I know and work with actually believe them. They then repeat it to me as if the claims are established fact, or they fill up my e-mail inbox with the tripe. I have more than a couple distant relatives on "block" on my e-mail program because they've repeatedly sent phony virus warnings, chain mail hoaxes and articles claiming Coca Cola can dissolve teeth in a class in 24 hours.

Schools in Western countries should bag the Shakespeare a little bit and spend more time teaching kids how to spot tripe like this:

Quote:
FORENSIC RESEARCH DOCUMENT
Prepared By: William P. Kopp
A. R. E. C. Research Operations
TO61-7R10/10-77F05
RELEASE PRIORITY: CLASS I ROO1a

Wow. RELEASE PRIORITY: CLASS I ROO1a.
That must be really important.

If you're really bored, throw some key phrases into Google and see where this is coming from. You'll note:

1. There's no evidence that "A.R.E.C. Research Operations", or "William P. Kopp" actually exist or have ever existed. Any Google search of either reveals only this attempt at starting an anti-microwave oven urban-legend.

2. It's being actively propogated by zealous and willfully gullable herbal medicine/natural food types who seem one step away from shaving their heads, putting on their Nikes, positioning their suitcases by the bed and waiting for the aliens to arrive after they've consumed the poison.

Made to sound like that guy Dr. Everett P. Koop (I think that was his first name) who was the Surgeon General of the USA.

You know, I saw a show on Discovery that said microwaving vegetables breaks open their cell walls, allowing more nutrients to be digested from them. I don't have an online source to back this up, but that's what I saw.

I will, however, stick to pans & toasters... microwaved meals always taste crappy anyhow. Unless they're left-overs...

"I was looking at the food pyramid the other day and I realized pretty much nothing I eat is on it. I eat so many processed microwaved foods my diet is probably better described by the bottom rung of the Periodic Table of Elements."

Well, last year I almost exclusively ate only microwave food (hot pockets, canned pasta, even microwaved ramen) and my brain hasn't melted yet...
