Okay, I'm a Canadian who last April did a runner from Korea (for valid reasons I might add, but that's not the point of this thread), but am coming back in September(ish). What are the chances of me getting turned down for an E2 visa? Would it (in your humble opinions) be safer for me to obtain my visa before I left Canada and if so, how long before coming should I apply for it? I'm using a recruiter so I'll actually have a job before coming. I'm not sure if my director reported me to immigration or not but I'm guessing not because the teacher I replaced did a runner as well and came back to the country after a few months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot get a new E-2 until your old one expires. It doesn't have anything to do with your previous boss. Not directly anyway. Look in your passport for the old E-2 visa stamp and see when it expires.

I ran because the teachers' supervisor was verbally abusive towards me and after several confrontations between him and myself, as well as other teachers, he refused to stop. I don't care how much money they paid me (which wasn't always paid on time), no job is worth being demeaned over. Anyway, that wasn't the point of this thread. My E2 is expired, but I heard that if the director reports you to immigration, you may not be able to get another working visa for 5 years. Correct or misinformation?

I'm going under a different passport because my old one was lost. Would that make a difference? Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
