It never fails.

Every semester since I've been here, my foreign co-workers and I have gotten the worst classes at the start of each Monday. It's not just that they're being bad because it's the first class on Monday, either. It's always the low-level, don't give a darned students in 2-1 (this year numbers changed, 2-9), etc.

I am almost certain that my Korean co-workers do this because they don't want those students first. They complain about the same classes and same students.

Ahh, is that how is works? I didn't know....the numbers indicate level?

2-1 is lowest level grade 2's

2-2 is one up?

I suspected that was the case, b/c I have some classes where all the students seem to pretty pretty low, borderline special ed....would be nice to be filled in here once in a blue moon. Confused

Yeah..Mondays suck. I have grade 3s. Today was just insane. My last class was just torture. The worst class I had in 6 months.

Well, last year it was like that... 2-1 meant the lowest level of the 2nd grade.

They changed it this year. Actually, 2-8 was the highest last year, but now, it's one of the lowest. Apparently students were demoralized by that system and complained.

Monday's are great for me. One special class in the morning. The rest of the day I do nothing. Literally nothing. Think I watched Van Wilder today, slept for a bit, made some photo copies and now its 4pm. Life is great.

On the other hand, I have all my crap classes on Wednesday. By far the busiest day of the week. This class doesn't do anything at all. Every teacher in the school just shakes their head about them. Even get the funny smiles from the other teachers as I am about to enter that classroom.

Are you sure the classes are streamed? All the public schools in my district do some kind of placement test/evaluation before the start of the school year & aim for equity between the classes.

Of course, the classes quickly shake out as some better some worse than average anyway. Each class has a group personality, set to some extent by the class "leaders" who seem to influence the overall tone. My assessment of the various classes usually matches the other subject teachers', but oddly enough I'm getting along fine with this semester's unanimous hellspawn class -- I quite like them.

My best & worst classes are scattered randomly through my weekly schedule.
