Nope. Daechi-dong's got one thing that no other place has.

Daechidong Waegooknom...

How is Sinchon a ghetto? Isn't a ghetto a place where minorities live? What are you smoking? Other than Daechidong pollution fumes.

I wouldn't mind living there, but I'd never pay the ridiculous rent. I'd rather commute 20 minutes or less and pay way less rent.

If you consider:

You just pretty much described Seoul.

It's perfectly nice there, don't get me wrong, but your painting it as suuuuch a happenin' place must seem a bit silly to anyone who has been there. I've been there. It's got some expensive and some not so expensive apartments and not much else.

I live quite close, in the Gangnam area. You seem to have allowed someone to get you carried away with the concept of status there. As I have been led to understand, Daechi dong has some quite good schools, which means it is popular with families with young children, as they want their kids in that catchment area. This is what I understand accounts for the land value in that district.

That's why it's ideal for the over forties. If one is to take an expensive area which is expensive because it's cool, then surely Apkujeong or Hannam dong, would be higher on the list of hip manors.

Hannam-dong? Pricey homes... but hip or happening? Where? Confused
