Without it exploding? Anyone done it yet? I hate these flourescent lights. I have a decent hanging lamp over my kitchen table with a socket that is the same size as an incandescent bulb would use. I hate flourescent light and want to change, but am scared of an explosion with shards of glass flying everywhere.

There should be a voltage stamp/sticker/mark somewhere on the fixture. Make sure that the voltage that the fixture puts out is not bigger bigger than the oltage required for the new bulb. If it is equal or less, you should be okay.
