I went to KEB bank to get a money order in US Dollars today so I could mail it to my bank in America. They gave me a form to fill out. I wrote down my own name as the beneficiary. When they saw that they said that the purchaser could not also be the beneficiary.
I then asked them about traveller's cheques. They said the same thing. So I filled out another form and put wrote down my Mom's name as the beneficiary and finally they gave me a traveller's cheque in US Dollars.
I have never purchased traveller's cheques before so it's confusing to me. |

Well, I could be wrong, but dosent the beneficiary the money after you are dead? So if that is the case, then you cant get money after you died. |

Generally, the person cashing the money order must show ID- That's probably why they didn't want you to use yourself as the beneficiary (just means the person who recieves the money) |

I often do this at Daegu bank, with on problem. The check is for my bank in the States, and I am listed as the beneficiary. I am surprised this is a problem. |

Go to a different bank. I write my own name as the receiver/beneficiary all the time without problem... strange that they didn't let you? |
