Roh confounded that Koreans are so pro-American
In a talk with Korean residents here during a three-day stay in Turkey, President Roh Moo-hyun has worried aloud that his countrymen approached issues involving the South Korea-U.S. alliance too much from an American point of view. Without giving examples, Mr. Roh complained Saturday that some Koreans are too what he called pro-American when they discuss relations between Seoul and Washington.

That's Koreans in Turkey.

Imagine Roh coming to the U.S. and finding that some of our 2+ million kyopos are "thinking like Americans". As the article states, "Korea was seeking compromises through dialogue and persuasion, Mr. Roh said. 'In that process, there exist those who make American-biased remarks both in the United States and Korea. That is the difficulty I have, but I believe it is up to politicians to persuade such people.'"

Yes, President Roh, it's a difficulty indeed. When the president of Korea is too naive to understand that some people in the world have a higher allegiance than their ethnicity, he needs to be educated.

This is why people speak of "fifth columnists".

"Some educated South Koreans who speak in a way more like Americans than Americans are of the greatest concern," said President Roh Moo-hyun, who visited Turkey in the afternoon of April 16th (local time). "Koreans should think and make judgments in a way like Koreans,"

"Koreans should think and make judgments in a way like Koreans,"

Is that thinking and making judgments like North Koreans or South Koreans?

"Though I do my best, frankly speaking, I have insufficient capacity to do so. There are many people better than myself."

Is it 2007 yet?

I hate Roh even more than I hate Bush. Does that make sense? At home, I'm liberal, here I'm conservative.

This reminds of of the rhetoric back in the States:

"If you don't agree with me you aren't a patriot."

I used to like Roh, but now I just find him to be an idiot. Cant wait for 2007. Its not even the anti american thing but the "Koreans should think like Koreans". WTF? Is there one way that Koreans are allowed to think? The Roh way? What a moron. Who does he think he is telling people how they should think? 2 more years of this nonesense and perhaps there will be a president who isnt such a moron and such a Nork lackey.

Who's going to be next? I haven't even been paying attention to the political scene here. It still feels like he was elected yesterday and hasn't done anything yet.

Elected yesterday? It's been more than a year since he was impeached!

What I mean is that I haven't seen anything defining from him. Being impeached was a big deal but that was the opposition. No big meetings with North Korea like Kim Daejung did (even if it became a scandal later) and he just seems to be puttering about doing who knows what.
That being said, I haven't been paying much attention. Has he done anything really defining or impressive during all this time?

Well, besides getting impeached, declaring "diplomatic war" on Japan, ignoring North Korea's human rights record and distorted history in China's textbooks, the highlight of his administration so far has probably been his double eyelid surgery. Nationalists suck.

I've heard this from quite a number of Americans on the left.

Hey, don't bother waking up for this show -- it's Amatuer Hour at the Blue House.

Actually, the months during the impeachment inquiry weren't so bad, really. At least then we know the Rohfer wasn't able to cause any more trouble and we could get on with business.

Hmm.. What's wrong with his "ѱ̸ ѱδ ؾѴ" remark? What he meant is that every Koreans should put Korea's interest first. Also he was concerned about those who believe we should do anything the US want us to.

Shocked
