I'm planning to leave Korea by December and want to maximise my paycheck by then. What do you guys reckon; summer camps (and leave a bit earlier than Dec) or sign a years contract and resign some months into it? I could also do the phone English kind of thing. |

That's horrible.... perpetuate the negative image of foreigners here and just leave mid-contract. Gee, thanks!
Do a camp. Also find a place that will hire you for 6 months with no airfare, etc. Just tell them you plan to leave by December and they won't be responsible for airfare here or there..... maybe you'll find someone who will get you a visa for one year, even though you'll be leaving. |

Why don't you just sign a shorter contract extension with your employer instead of signing a year contract and then stiffing him?
As the other said...way to perpeptuate the bad image man...money..money..money...me have responsabilities..whats that? |

Why should we tell you? Everything you've proposed doing is either illegal, unethical, or serves to give real teachers a bad name. "The phone English kind of thing"....WTF is that?
How about we turn you in to Immigration and you can make a bit of money for a few months in a prison as somebody's biatch?
Better yet, why don't you sell an organ or two? You don't seem to be very useful for anything else.
Congratulations. You just made the list. |

Great! Just what we need, more foreigners who are worried about.....
.... other foreigners, their "image" in Korea, and what Koreans "think about them."!!!!!!
Man screw what most of the people on these web pages try to tell you, it's foreigner screw foreigner around here.
My advice is don't sign and them jump without bad business reasons. If the boss isn't doing too bad then yah that would be wrong on a personal level. But once the boss gets ugly then cash in as needed.
And don't regard what these few blindies are saying.
In Korea's eyes YOU are wrong. Even at 100% perfect you are STILL wrong. These users that imply "we need to be on our best behavior" are wrong. |

Definetely do the camps. You can make more money more quickly.. and the end of December is when they start (usually between x-mas and new years).
Fit as many as you can in that short period of time. They are usually heavier in January and a bit into February.. and the season is over by March 1st (as a somewhat general guideline). |
