So I decided to capture some video onto the computer and everything seems fine. When I watch the video on the camcorder the sound is great, when I listen as the video is being captured to the computer everything is great. Once I go to edit the video the sound is all warbly and distorted. I captured twice, the second time I completely rebooted and did not touch a thing while capturing and had the same problem.

Any idea on how I can fix this...

So the sound leaving the camcorder is fine, but it's not fine on computer playback? Or it's sounding ok throught the computer speakers, but not on playback?

Can you describe the sound better? Warbly is like a record that is warped. Can you understand the sound on playback, or is it just a bunch of pops and clicks?

What program are you digitizing the video/audio with? What format is it recording to? What are the quality properties of the format?

Warbly as in I can understand what is being said, but there are pops and ripples in the sound. I hope that makes sense.

I'm using pinnacle studio 9.3 plus. the audio is all screwy after capture - it's the raw files before converting to wmv or mpg. Everything is set on highest quality.

Interestingly enough I did another capture and everything worked fine. I edited the raw footage down to 8 minutes and the sound is okay. Would you have any idea why it worked this time but not previously? I didn't change any settings or do anything different.

Anyhow, once summer rolls around and I have more time, I'm going to learn premier pro 1.5...

Could it be that your audio is overdriven? Try lowering the audio levels your inputting and see if that helps.

haven't tried yet, I'm busy with exams for my students and writing an essay for graduate school. I'll probably give it a shot this coming weekend though.
