I have my E2. How long do I have before I have to get my ARC? Is it 90 days?

Thanks.

Yep. 90 days. I got mine just shy of the 90 day limit. For some reason some people think it's 2 weeks. I do believe if you renew work contract (sign on for another year) you have 2 weeks to get your new visa renewal.

You have 90 days, but your school needs it to register you with the tax office. They may not be able to pay you until you have it.

Just go do it. You can't begin the process to get medical insurance until you do. Go early to avoid the lines. It is, or can be, painless.

The button to push to get the proper waiting ticket is confusing. I always push the wrong one.

I think that's why my owner's attitude is, "Oh, don't worry about it... you have three months." When I get paid next week, he's going to deduct tax and health insurance, and put it right in his pocket.

So... before I call him on it next week, is it absolutely 100% true that if I don't have my ARC, he can't pay into health insurance or deduct taxes?

Bingo. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes it's true. Do you have a health card? What are you going to give them when you go to the hospital? A bottlecap? He is putting you in danger. Get on it, right bloody now.

Believe me, I would have gotten it weeks ago if all I needed was to go down to Daegu with 10,000 won, a couple pictures, and my E2. However, I need something from him, some school Certificate of Registry. I think it's some document that proves he owns a business. I haven't been able to get that yet.

I guess I'd better bring it up again today.

I doubt that. You wouldn't have gotten the blue form that you took to Immigration in Japan or wherever you were without him being a registered business. They don't grant visas to schools they don't know about. It's a smokescreen.

Just to clarify, it's not a form, but it's the school's business registration number. I just spoke to the owner, it looks like we'll have this sorted out by next Monday.

Thanks for the responses.
