dude! Leave Itaweon! There are tons of plants of all varieties being sold on the street right now. Itaewon is probably the exception as its filled with tourist tchotckys. If you still can;t find what you want, PM me and come up to Hongje (think Hong-dae area) and we'll take a 5 minute walk and get you everything from cacti to roses- for around 2-10,000 (depending on pot size, though most tend to be around 3)

2-10000? Maybe its the cost of living in the boonies, but any plants here that constitute interior design statements start from 30000 & go way up.

Many nice specimens to be had though.

head down Jongno and get out at either Jongno 5-ga or 3-ga subway station I forget which but it's probably between the two. Loads of shops and stalls selling plants all over the pavement.

Yea, there is one place in Iteawon-2 dong but I'd go to the Dondaemun station and go right or left. That place is the gardening market for Seoul. Everything is there.

what kind of plants are you going to buy?

peace lilly is nice cuz it is easy to take care of and cleans/filters the air.

if your dingy apt doesn't get much sunlight, you can try snake plant. it grows well without much light.

have fun!

Yes.

And please splurge. Hire a cab to take it all home. You won't regret it, and your drab apartment will love you for it.

yeah, that's the problem. i have two decent sized windows but they're frosted glass. i recently got a rosemary plant and some kind of flowering cactus and they're doing well so far.

thanks for the snake plant idea harin. i think i know what you mean.

anyone else know of plants which don't require a lot of light?
