I hope not.
I don't have anything like a transcript. As far as I know UK uni's don't hand them out with your degree. You have to get one specially made.
This could be a major hassle for me as my new employer has just applied for my E-2. |

Same with U.S. universities, but it's really not a big deal. |

wrong. I have an F2, they needed my diploma, they needed other stuff too. |
As posted above, I have an F2 AND they needed my diploma as well.
Point being, I later heard they wanted transcrips but they never bothered asking me for them. |

By transcript, isn't that just the computer print out with your marks on? That's what the admin staff at my uni told me was my transcript. |

Yes. That's the transcript, but I don't remember being given that. The only time I saw my final marks was when they were posted on the Uni notice board. |

It might be different at Unis across the pond, but at mine, you can get an unofficial transcript- the computer print out, or an official one.
The official one is printed on copy resistant, odd sized paper, embossed with the university's seal, and comes in a sealed envelope. This is the one grad school applications require. |

| I have downloaded Unofficial Transcripts from my school's website. They worked for an interview here once, maybe they would if you get into a bind at Immigration. |

| Transcripts are a great idea. If you didnt graduate then you may not be able to get them, and GOOD! if you did graduate, you shouldnt have a problem. Call your school and order official sealed transcripts. I did that last year and I have like 10 sealed envelopes. |

Seems like this transcript requirement is true enough.
I was told by my new employer today that immigration won't process my E-2 application without one. Despite being given an E-2 just 6 months ago without transcripts. Bizzarely, they also said it must be enclosed in a sealed envelope with mu Uni's logo on........
Bummer.
I have to get one sent all the way here which will put back my visa application at least 10 days.
If you don't have one get it sent over. |

| It's true... my friend's employer even asked that the transcript should be from school and be sealed upon arrival... grad school style. |

official transcripts cannot be emailed. It's really not a big deal. You just contact your uni and ask them to mail the transcripts, preferrably to the intended recipient. Some places don't consider transcripts to be really "official" unless they come directly from the university with a local postmark. Just about anything can be counterfeited in the phillipines nowadays after all. |

Correct.
Immigration may relax the rules in a few months from now (in the nature of Korean 'crackdowns' about anything) but, for now, a sealed envelope containing the official transcript is what they want. |
