|
|
For some time I've been wondering who's dumber - SK Prez Roh or US Prez Bush.
The latest from Roh makes me tilt toward him. Recently he announced that some South Koreans are "more pro-American than the Americans" and they're giving him a hard time as Prez..
I guess things got embarrassing really fast - so his aide "clarified" the statement by saying that he meant that journalists, "who are able to command fluent English" and whose way of thinking is "more pro-American than Americans," are giving him a hard time.
I guess that means that patriotic Koreans should work at keeping Korea the Asian country with the dubious distinction of having the worst English on their continent????
Sigh.
Bush is definitely dumb, but at least he doesn't stick his foot THAT deep in his mouth. He apparently has managed to listen to smarter people (Karl Rove is I guess the best known) and let them write the speeches he delivers.
In SK's case, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jumped into this little quagmire with an even bigger (and totally undiplomatic) idiocy, announcing that they had "no pro-American officials" in residence at the Ministry. (Really? And I assume you're gonna mention this to the Yanks next time you want something, eh?)
What do others on this board think? Roh or Bush? I've settled on Roh as the "Dumber" part of the Dumb and Dumber duo.

For book smarts I would say Bush
"Street smarts" Roh
I like this, gave me a nice chuckle:

I've been puzzling about this same question since Roh's election and have never settled it in my mind. First one seems to be the 'winner', but then the other one edges ahead. It's like racing to be first in line under the guillotine. A dubious honor. |

They're both smart enought to know what hot button issues to use to keep their respective population's minds off of what a couple of dirt-bag politicians they are.
Anyone who can get millions of people to voluntarily drink the kool-aid isn't dumb.

Mmmm this was already on another forum where I responded...

"MY Power was invested in The Dark Side of the Swartz. I came from my Death Cruiser Battle Fleet to crush the haplessly unprepared rebels who denied THE EMPIRE and MY MASTER the Lord President the homage we deserved. The rebels should never have come against the EMPIRE the poor fools.
YOU DO NOT KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARK SIDE! HA HA HA HA ...
And, so THE EMPIRE prospers and I live a cloaked life of a mild thoughtful master teacher few know the real truth of just how many MREs and Chocolate pudding tins I glutted down in the Foreign Wastes."

He's Prime Minister of Canada
Supposed to be Mr Sound and Smart, but since his election last year (or is time flying faster than that? maybe 2003) he does seem like he could join Dumb (Bush) and Dumber (Roh) as Waiting Dumbly in the Wings ....
Ah, for the days of Chretien and the mangled Franglish one-liners.
I'll always think of Chretien fondly cuz of his farewell interview with the press, wherein he opined he just might kick back and try smoking a little weed - apparently wants to find out what the rest of his Canuck brethren have been doing while he was a straight-laced politico.
Something of a crook, of course, but then why else would anyone go into politics in Canada?
