The public school I work at has glass restroom doors. It is revealing and awkward. I can wave at people I see in the hall while I am urinating. I'm unhappy about that. Are glass doors anti student mischief devices or is this a non issue with the Koreans?

I'm near something called an "English Zone" at the same school. Its bad, I don't like it. These things are important. I'm running because of the uncertainty, vauge goals, excessive supervison... I'm sure its gonna be very good and then I'll come by and appreciate but not now. I can only hope it the best.

You've been here for a while, so I'm surprised you haven't realized this yet Wink

When designing men's bathrooms, Koreans wish to ensure that men's rooms have maximum visibility in and out at all times. They even pay close attention to minor details, such as making sure the door is hinged on the side that will open to a full view of the bathroom, rather than obstructing the view of the urinators.

Try to find a bathroom in a subway station where you can't stand outside and watch men relieving themselves. There aren't many.

Not to mention the ajummas that nonchalantly walk in from time to time.

Btw, my school also has the glass doors, and I'm just as disturbed by it. Actually, I once worked at a hagwon that had all glass walls looking outside. Shocked Didn't ever use the urinal there.

What! Your school has doors!

Fortunately for me there are plenty of teacher only restrooms available or else I would be able to take a slash while watching the saucy Japanese teacher take her lesson...mmm on second thought am I so lucky?

My hakwon has one set of bathrooms (one men, one women) for each of their three floors. Students and faculty share it. Let me tell you, nothing is as much fun as chatting away in Konglish with an 8 year old boy while trying to do your business.

Except, perhaps, chatting away with an 8-year-old of the opposite gender while trying to do your business, 'cause somebody propped the restroom door open (again ...) and he thinks he ought to wander in so he can tell the teacher "Bye!" one more time before going home.

If I use the one at kindie I lock the door to the whole thing behind me. It really perplexed one little emperor who came along and found out that he couldn't pee at the exact second he wanted to. I never use the one at hogwon because odds are very good as soon as I started to pee a bunch of girls would run in. There's one on the floor below and even that one isn't always a safe bet. I hate to think of what might happen if I was using the urinal and a certain class of brats came by.

SparkX-
I know this is off topic but I just have to say that I love your avatar, or whatever you call it. I've been a huge fan of Rudy Ray Moore ever since I first saw Dolemite ages ago, and have pretty much see all his films since. That first one is classic, though. "Where's Dolemite? Breathin down your neck..."
