Anybody else caught this lovely bug? I've been sick for a week, running a bit of a fever, backaches, a nose that weighs 100 Kilos. After missing an afternoon of classes and the next day, I've been crawling to class. SO has caught it, other teachers have it and some of my students have been sick.

Whats worse is now with the weather warming up it makes me feel even worse.

This has to be the sickest I've felt since getting to Korea in 2002

Yeah, I've had something for about two weeks now. Bad cough, congestion, muscle aches and pains. Been to the doctor and they gave me some meds, but who knows if it'll help. Definitely the sickest I've been in a while. Doesn't help working with kids who always seem to be coughing/wheezing.

I caught something that was pretty bad earlier this week, but I've slept off everything except a mild sore throat in two days.

The dust right now is really bad- I'd chalk it up to that actually.

Witht he lifestyle most waygookin lead Im not surprised you guys are coming down with crap. Crappy eating habits, drinking, lack of serious exercise, discipline issues. Personally I havent been sick for ages. I attribute that to keeping fit and eating healthy food, avoiding alcohol, etc.

Murphys law DW means that you will likely get sick.

I agree Exercise, eat well and get some sleep, also get stricter on making the little germ bags in your classroom cover their mouths when coughing, I'm super strict on that.

I was slain by the Cold from Hell on Saturday night, and slept through Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I'm back at work now, but my honking lungs make my coworkers cry out in horror. One of my friends in town is currently suffering the same muscle aches, coughing, fever and headaches, though we haven't seen each other recently enough to have swapped germs.

I blame recent illness for wiping out my immune system, yellow dust, and yes, I probably shouldn't stay out so late some nights. So spank me.

I'm married so I wont spank you. Looks like the cold spanked you good though.

The best thing to do when you feel like you may be coming down with something is to go to the gym and just punish yourself on the treadmill. This has always worked for me as a preemptive weapon. I dont know how sound this is medically, but I always feel great after an intense workout.

Exercising with a bad cold can be pretty dangerous. But a good workout when feeling a tad under-the-weather generally will do the world of good.

I'm only running 10-15 miles a week at the moment. I would like to get some more exercise in, but it's damn hard to figure out how to fit it into the hours I work, with the facilities around here. If I could find a decent pay-as-you-sweat gym...

My usual allergy symptoms (generably tolerable) have been augmented this week with a really funky taste and soreness in my mouth. I was going to go to the doctor's (have never experienced anything like it before) but similar symptoms are going around here and being attributed to the dust.

The worst part is that it makes two of my favorite libations- coffee and wine- taste wierd and bitter. I guess it would be a good time to break those habits. Evil or Very Mad

STF up DW, I don't drink, work out 3x/week, eat reasonbly healthy (my only vice is chocolate) go to bed early and I still got this bug.

You need to stop judging people as a whole because they get sick etc. We are not a bunch of lazy hapless drunks as you portray people to be.

I attribute catching this bug to having a bit of a repressed immune system due to some dental work I had done last week and my killer schedule of teaching and studying.

You need to work out 6 times a week.

working out too often can also cause your immune system to weaken...so doing it 6 times a weak and punishing yourself on the treadmill might not be such good advice...
