travel agencies, especially bucket shops, have the better deals because they get large blocks of seats from whatever airlines they have their deals with....
airlines know they cannot sell all their seats at their prices so they count on the agencies to sell them... |

| Nothing beats a good travel agent for bargains. Someone who knows there stuff and is not trying to scalp you will be able to offer far superior deals than dealing with the airlines direct. I for one have never bought an online ticket if you can locate a decent independent travel agent you can usually get a much better deal, especially if you're flexible on when you go and who the carrier is. |

I've been trying this site to get me dates and I keep getting no seats available for this date. I've tried every day between July 22nd and Aug 5 and was willing to go to different cities in Europe with no luck as this fare was cheaper than going to Siem Reap. |

There was a real screw up with my ticket to Vietnam in January. I was at the airport. I went to the VN airline desk. I was told it would be MUCH cheaper for me to buy the ticket from a travel agency than from the airline directly.
The woman said it is always like that. I don't know why or how. Something about agencies get discounts.
I thought is was freaking peculiar. |
