I took 200 steps out of my apartment building (in numerous directions) and i counted these things:
- restaurants (numerous!):
shabu shabu, galbi, pig's foot, kam ja tang, shik dang, ah gu jibs, fried chicken, ori gogi, byuh da go i (if that could be considered different from galbi), chinese food, hweh. and one restaurant which may be dalkalbi though i haven't eaten there yet.
Please don't bitch about my spelling of korean words....
- bars:
7 bars
3 chicken hof, two chain bars, one non chain bar, and one bar called "Movie in Story" Has anyone seen one of these? Basically they show movies every night in the bar.
- there is a rather large park with excercise and playground equipment
- two dry cleaning places (though i think one just went outta business)
- one laundry "bang"
- 3 hair salons
-there are two supermarkets and 3 "syoo-puhs"
- there is one elementary school
- One biweekly market
- 250steps to a path up a moutain...
- there is a small park where halmonis get to gether and get wasted several times a week (both cute and scarey...)
- PC bangs? only 2
- One computer store.
- a jjimjil bang
- 2 gyms
- one mokyoktang.
and that was about it.

Considering i live in one small town (though i actually don't know EXACTLY what my area is considered as it's also been described as part of two different neighbouring towns), it seems like it's got almost anything i could need.

oh and, no more than 3 other foreigners (none of whom i've met...)

what do you have near your house?
