troll perhaps. if he is, must say he produced a good read.

Sitting in the deportation room at immigration trying to get permission to go back to his apt one last time to retrieve his belongings.
Either that or fired from his job for bringing the name of his university into disrepute.

You need to contact someone at your university at once. They signed for your sponsorship and they are responsible for you. I have no doubt that this matter will be sorted out when someone in a position of authority steps in.

Good Luck

Oh I dont think that really happened. I have been here for 7 years and that has never once happened to me or anyone I know. You probably just misunderstood the situation and they were most likely just fooling around a bit. Here is a clue- you are not in Canada anymore. Things are different here. You have to learn to adapt to the Koreans culture and ways and not be so stuck in the "my homeland is so superior" way of thinking.

What a stupid thing to say. This has nothing to do with preconceived notions of superiority. The cops in this situation were idiots. Jesus man...adapt to what? So you are insinuating that this type of illogical nonsense goes on all the time in Korea? This is part of the culture we should adapt to?

I admit, the first time you pulled this passage out I didn't think it was funny in the least. The more you pull it off though the funnier it gets.

Well, this cheered me up! What a wonderful story.

Of course you are going to be held responsible. You'd have to be a fool not to realize this. Small town to boot! With a Korean girlfriend as well. All of this is going to go over real well.

Sorry to laugh, but it did cheer me up!

Policemen aren't respected the way they are in other countries. I would think there are a lot of them that are just plain pissed off with their lot in life. Especialy when the wifee starts berating them for not having enough money to paye for their kids to have hogwon lessons. All of that and other stuff as well.

Their treatment of foreigeners as though common law doesn't apply to them could be a way of venting hidden frustration and anger. They can't take it out on Koreans, so they take it out on us
