I don't teach on Saturdays, but my school does schedule the occasional pointless meeting or workshop on Saturdays.

During the semester it seems like I don't have any days off. A day like today where I don't have to teach I see as a chance to catch up on work (although I fucked most of today away at a barbeque party and didn't get finished much of what I wanted to finish).

Did so for a couple of years when I first arrived.

I haven't since i arrived here 3.5 years ago.

However, in Australia I worked almost every saturday, wasn't so bad...

I think as long as you get that 2 day break, whenever it is then its fine. However if you are doing 6 days a week every week then that would wear you down.

I work the occasional Saturday morning, teaching an English Club Activity. That usually means showing a movie like Legally Blonde or some other such entertaining english activity. I put up a stink about it, but it's only once a month, so I had to back down. My contract is a bit ambiguous about it. But I bring it up every now and then and they know I'm not happy about it. However, I do get overtime, and they are happy to give me extra vacation. Very Happy

I had to work Saturdays back home when I worked in a hospital. I worked w/e for 10 years. I worked w/e in my first year here, too. I think I've paid my dues. I don't work Saturdays anymore.

I'm not complaining, I just think 'why work Sat's when you don't have to?'

I did for the past two months and it wasn't that bad. Saturday morning is dead time for me, anyways... so I didn't mind going in to work and making a little extra won for the month. Our school actually pays more for Saturday work to encourage people to sign up.

However, working the 2-6pm Saturday shift is not something I would do. That's my prime goof-off period.
