Have you tried removing the linux from the CD drive and booting? GUess you don't have a Windows CD handy do you?
Why not hit F2 to enter setup and set the HDD to boot from (of is that what you meant by F8 which AFAIK is for Safe Mode boots)? |

I"m only using the linux disc because windows doesn't work. I"ll try the F2 route but I tried that before and nothing happened. |

OK well that just sounds mighty strange. F2 is the standard way to enter BIOS unless I'm mistaken. I'll have to move over and let the heavyweights through now. I've got a feeling their first post will say something like "tell us more about your system and how you got WinXP on there in the first place"...
sorry I couldn't help |

What did you do to get Linux to boot from the CD? I suppose you had to go into the BIOS and change the boot device. If so, then you should be able to go back in and change it back. If it only lists the CD -ROMs and Floppy drives, try changing it...it will give you a list.
If you just stick the CD in and it kind of autoruns or something...(I have no experience running Linux from a CD, and there are a few variants that do this), then you are on your own.
Sorry.
I can't imagine what would be done that couldn't be undone. |
