ha.
a trashy villa i once lived in was full of hostess bar girls and yang-aht-chi's.
there were two real sweet girls living across the hall from me.
every night, 4:30 am, like clockwork, these darlings returned home all pissed up. they seemed to have something out for me even though i never crossed paths with them.
they loved to bang on my door, whail out some hellos and blabber at me in korean.
after a few weeks of this, i decided enuf was enough.
i poured a cup of water and kept it by the door before i went to sleep. that night, i was already programmed to wake up just before 4:30. i heard their high heels clicking in staggered rhythm on the stairs..
'WAKE UP!!!*bang bang bang*HHHHEELLLLOOOO!"
i got out of bed, openned the door, and threw that cup of water in their faces. i closed the door.
the series of astonished grunts and groans that followed was priceless.
i don't think they knew what hit them. |

The Eye, I think you should launch a separate thread with that post of yours.
Some possible thread titles:
"Neighbours!"
"Those Dreadful Neighbours!"
"Neighbours -- Can't Live with 'em.... Really!"
or something like that. If you did, I'd have a bunch of posts to contribute when time permits, and I bet many others would too. It wouldn't belong in the Job-related Forum, I think. Nor would it necessarily belong in the "Freakiest Waygook Contest" thread, as all of my experiences are with locals. Anyway, you might consider it! |

i think i would get more flames, than real contributions, JongnoGuru!
"maybe they wanted to be your friend, EYE, you ass!"
i'm not proud of splashing them, but sleep deprivation isn't fun.
i'd like to hear a story , though, so how 'bout starting that thread yourself? |

That's hilarious.
I wish I could throw a cup of water on my neighbor's yap dog. He starts his yapping around 7am and continues until about ... 7am the next day. |

| That's not a bad idea. For this guy I might use a bucket. If a few hostess bar girls want to come around at that hour I might attempt more politeness, however. |

I have a similar story, but I like your ending.
I lived in a building in Taejon with 4 apts on the second floor. Sometime around 3:00 every morning the hostess bar girl in the apt across the hall from mine and the one in the apt down the hall came home. They would both open their doors, turn on their music and stand in the doorway talking to each other. This would continue for 30-45 minutes before they went to bed.
They were somewhat quieter when they brought guys home with them. Then they'd leave the door closed while playing music and doing whatever it is women do with men at 4 in the morning. Sometimes one guy would decide he wanted a different girl, so he'd leave his door open and go down to the other apt, knock loudly; there would be some conversation at the door and then they would switch.
Except for the sleep interuptions, it was highly entertaining. It permanently disabused me of the notion that Koreans are conservative about sex. |

| Man I got idiot neighbours as well. For some reason they think its ok to talk on cell/sing/puke/ring door bell/scream and do other loud stuff at 3 am. Ironic thing is that they are all females. I am going to take my sick day when I am realy sick tho. |

I also know that taking sick days in Korea is the best and fastest way to get fired. |

A WEEK??
Nice knowin' ya, Grotto!
I like to play my home theater and 12" subwoofer kinda loud, and it seems like my neighbors keep coming and going quite often. Sucks to have people living in the apartment next to me. |
