Never been in Deagu but I live in Busan. I love it, all the people are very polite and friendly, you have all the luxuries of Seoul except for Yongsan. Good transportation system, very liberal population. Depending where you live you will get treated differently. You also have a lot of nice beaches. |

Liberal? That would be a welcome change. Daegu is the most conservative city in Korea, so I am told. |

I finally visited Daegu.. but only saw the downtown at night.. and it had a lot of energy and such.
I lived in Busan for a year though.. and I'd take it over it.. just because of the beach and mountains and has several downtowns.
I definitely wouldn't describe Busan as a very liberal population.. they were extremely conservative when I lived there. They'd wear their pants and shirts while swimming in the beach for chrissakes! But at least they got a beach.. so that was good. |

First of all, there are only three places in Korea:
1. Seoul
2. other cities
3. country
When Koreans say Daegu is the most conservative city in Korea, I believe they talking about Korean politics, not people's overall attitude/openess to foreign people and ideas. As for the latter, I think the most conservative city in Korea is EBS (everywhere but Seoul). The differences between other cities in Korea is minimal, i.e., if you don't like Daegu, you don't like EBS. |

Times are changing Tiger. Last summer quite a few bikinis were there to be seen. |
