Bonus, severance, whatever you want to call it - I finally got it May 10th after finishing the contract at my college on February 28th. I think I got it because I was polite about everything and asked every once in a while in a polite manner, but stayed persistent. So to people who forget about and never get their bonus, I have to say that having this extra cash is really great and really worth the little extra work. After all, when you finish your year, you deserve it. If it gets to the point where you don't think you'll get it, file a protest at the labor board and see where that leads you.

yakey,
Are you masochistic?

late payment = happiness ?
begging = politeness ?

was that the first reply from RR without a link?

anyway, dude, we all know about the bonus, and i dont think anyone will ever "forget about it". how and why did you go 3 months without doing anything but "being polite" about it?? were they being polite to you by with holding it for that long? definately not! its against the law, and they knew it and tried it on you something cronic, hoping you'd bugger off and leave them alone. demand it next time. on the last day of your contract. period! Shocked

While it is great that you got paid...it was YOURS. You had it coming...it is the law. Why you or anyone should have to constantly ask for what is theirs...is just stupid.

Good work, I'm happy for your sake! Can I borrow some money?

You should give them your 30 day notice and tell them you are too sick to continue working because 3 months of high blood pressure has put you in a state of ill health.

buymybook: Since you seem to like to give free "advice" to so many people, here's some advice for you. Before posting "English" advice, spend some time trying to improve your own limited 'reading comprehension' abilities.

maybe this is where bmb got the message that maybe she stayed on at her college but had finished her initial contract and had maybe started a new contract without receiving the one year completion bonus??

thats what i thought when I read it too. unless she went into the college everyday to persistantly ask fer the bonus, then the impression i got from the op was that she was stiill there.

Embarassed Embarassed

Yes Crazykiwi that does make sense. In my attempt to take a shot at that jerk bmb for his rude post to peppermint in another thread, I may have been a tad hasty. Wink

Try keeping to the orignal post for the sake of the current post readers and possible writers. If you have a problem with me feel free to pm me!!! Why do you care about peppermint??? You are acting like a child who belongs to a "click!" Do you belong to "the" click?

buymybook,

Your advice is often nonconstructive criticism and wrong. Please don't offer me any advice. I'm sure most posters here don't want your advice as well.

BTW, have you found a job yet? Your last negotiating tactics seemed to have failed.

bmb: I know as a self-described Tourism major your reading list was likely restricted to the Lonely Planet, Let's Go and glossy brochures of Cancun. But really, even someone with your "education" should know that the word is 'clique'.

ps. I do not know and have never met Peppermint, but I know an asshole when I see one.

Kimchielover/gmat

I'm happy to see both of ya doing your "research." Kimchie don't want advice, but I wasn't offering advice to you so blow it out your butt. gmat continues to refer to other posts. Can't you simply do as not only I, but the monitors and Dave suggests? Keep to the thread. gmat, why are you so judgemental? Your claim is you don't know someone, well fortunately you don't know me. You claim you do, good for you and your amazing judgemental abilities. Now, who was it that asked about my current situation. I'll leave that for your research abilities, research on!!!
