Is there anyone out there from the UK with a one-year masters degree and got a university gig? Did you encounter any problem? According to someone, the Ministry of Education does not accept one-year masters programme to be valid?! Confused I find this very absurd because the UK have one year full-time intensive courses, as well as two years..

Anyway, your input is greatly appreciated. TIA.

Well seeing as your username is teachmeenglish I'll take the liberty... they also check landing cards to make sure you can spell the name of the country you are arriving in Laughing

I got an M.A. in Canterbury and was teaching at a university for two years and am teaching at another for one now. Perhaps subject major matters?

Thanks... that was some pretty bad grammar in my past post. Should have gave it another look, because it was embarrasing to read again. Embarassed

Just curious--has anyone done the MATESOL at the U of Edinburgh? I'm planning on going there in a couple years with my family, once we've saved up enough money.
It looks like a good program, but it's hard to find good independant info, and I won't know until I finally apply whether they'll accept my Canadian 3-year BA with 1-year TESOL certificate.
