My former office assistant is now managing an herb shop in Daegu, and she would like to expand their offerings to better serve the international community here. So here is your chance to make suggestions. What is not available that you would like to be able to find?
Please, no jokes about anything illegal. She is sincere about expanding their business, and I'd like to help.
I've suggested dill, cilantro and basil. What else have people been looking for? Please post, and I'll forward your suggestions.

whole peppercorns are available in Costco. Fresh sage would be great. It's easy to grow, though so I'll try to get some seeds.

Habenyeros? I don't know if they would grow here- into the super hot Caribbean stuff, grotto?

I have basil, lemongrass, thyme, mint, and cilantro growing on my balcony- now I have to get back into the habit of using them! Embarassed

All of those would be great to find in a store! Oregano would be nice too- and it is super easy to grow.

Grotto, are you in daegu?

I would imagine habeneros would thrive in the summer climate here. I had some growing up in Canada(Edmonton) and they were plenty hot.

I haven't grown it here- only outdoors in the States. I never had any trouble then, and it spreads like wild. Maybe you are watering it too much? Go online and google "growing oregano" and you will probably get lots of hints.

I only really have trouble with rosemary, so far. I can keep them alive for a while, but they don't really thrive.

You can buy fresh herbs at a place in Palgongsan park. You can get anything you need on that mountain really. Moonshine, duck, pheasant, moonshine, wild pig, cows, goats, moonshine, grapes, persimmons, apples, wild mushrooms, moonshine, deer's blood, fresh herbs, and plenty of moonshine. You go north past the airport, through bullodong until you get to an IC with a big statue. Turn left and go straight until you see the sign with the map of the park. Turn right and eventually you'll see the herb place on your left. There's an English sign that says "Fresh Herbs and Tea" or something like that.

The herb shop is at Naengchun Park in Naengchun. It's a childrens' park, and the herb shop is part of it. I'll forward this thread to her, so it might be a while before they can get anything new.
If you visit, please be polite.

Fresh basil would be great. Also continental parsley (flat-leaved variety).

I've seen fresh coriander in a Pakistani deli in Dalseogu.
